1. I propose that there is a "X offset" setting that moves your avatar to the left a set percentage. This prevents your AV from being right at the seam where the two monitors meet.

2. I propose that there is a "upper left popup" option for boxes that don't save where they were last. They generally pop up in the middle of the screen.

To run dual monitors you need to select "Horizontal Span" mode under the nView display mode.

This makes windows thinks it's one large monitor.

The only problem is that you have to leave the window a little off center so that your AV is not chopped in half.

This is a feature of the nivida control panel where the video card sends half of the scan line to one monitor and then the rest of the same scan line to the next monitor.

Both monitors have to be the same size and use the same resolution and refresh rate.

The mouse center pivot would also have to be offset based on the offset setting.

As for the linux, mac, windows debate. this dual monitor concept would work for any video card set up that allows forms to span across mutiple monitors.

The "horizontal span" mode is the most efficent method, but I suspect that with Vista you could span open-GL to even more monitors.

The offset setting would not be needed if you use three monitors.
