1. Select multiple items in inventory so it is easier to drag and drop them into a folder. It is tedious to have to do this one item at a time. 2. Let us choose how to arrange folders instead of folders automatically sorting from A-Z. I'd like to have a folder stay in place while I load it up instead of it automatically sorting itself away. 3. The option to not allow same name files. I have several dozen files named 'object'. Way confusing. I'm sure I'll think of more, but if anyone else can, please add to this list. I feel the need to organize!

1) I agree completely. This drives me nuts when I do bulk uploads.
2) Not so big a deal to me. I name my own folders so they start with symbols or numbers, to force them to sort in the order I want. I do the same thing in my local file system, anyway, so I'm used to it.
3) Umm, no opinion on this one. :-/ Haven't given it any thought.
4) Have objects default to no name, instead of "Object". When you acquire an unnamed object into your inventory, have it name itself "New Object" just like they do now. I'm just really annoyed about the fact that most of the prims in my house show "Object" as the name when hovering. If I haven't renamed them, I'd prefer for them to have no name. (Or description, for that matter.)
5) If an uploaded texture/sound is not in anyone's inventory or used on any objects, let the original uploader have their money back. It's annoying to create a texture, upload it, delete it, tweak and re-upload, delete, tweak, ad-nauseum. It ends up costing bucu (sp) L$, and I still only end up with one texture. And all the textures I deleted aren't really using any resources, because they don't exist any more once I've purged them from my trash. (Nobody else can get them in-game, because they're not being used and they've never been distributed.)

To go along with this, it drives me crazy that I can't organize the Core folders. I tried to move the calling cards folder and the note cards folder into a single folder called Cards. This would allow me to clear some space when I start going deep into my directory structure. I wanted the root inventory folder to just display three different folders instead of all the different ones it shows now.

One thing I dont agree with is Grim's no-name by default objects. Many people, including myself filter out objects named "", since llKey2Name() and other functions usually return an empty string if the object that theyre supposed to find by key isnt in the same sim.
All other suggestions I do like... ive requested multiple file selection once as well.
I really would like the same system working in the object contents pane, since its a real pain to organize stuff in an object's contents.

and mine:
6) If you have an object in *an* (yours or an objects) inventory, you can 'open' that object and it acts like a directory containing that object's inventory items.
This is because if I have a script on an item nested inside 4 items, I dont want have disassemble and reassemble it all just to change the script.
7) LINKS! I *much* rather that all my objects contain a LINK to a script rather than a copy, for 2 reasons: i) update any one of the scripts and all the other objects using that script get updated too. ii) if sim goes down, the script isn't lost. If I delete the MyScript by accident, I dont have to riffle through the 200 copies of MyScript that are in the trash. If an object get passed to someone else, the act of giving it should make all linked things become unlinked copies.

Sometimes I loose objects and I don't want to go all the way through it....

Yes, but you can't drag-move or shift-drag-copy them. All you can do with a multi-selection now is copy or delete. And, if you do a multi-selection in an object inventory, it will let you copy, but then won't let you paste into a folder in your inventory. Create a box, put 10 textures in its contents, then try to copy those textures all at once to a single location in your inventory. Better yet, pretend you're organized and try to copy 3, 3, and 4 into three separate folders of your inventory Now imagine someone handing you a box-o-textures that contains about 40-50 textures. (And remember, whenever you drag-copy a single texture to your inventory, the contents window auto-scrolls back to the top of the list, so once you've gotten the first ten or so, you'll have to scroll down every friggin time.)

Great Idea Joan! Now can we add to that... When we organize or textures. How come it doesn't show on the Edit selection. What good does it do to spend time orginazing you your textures from your photo album when they all mix together in texture section under edit? Hum I am looking for a picture I had for animal caption events but I had to page through all thoses fabric and wood texts I have been collecting.

Woot Joan! 1) Completly agree with ya there! Selecting one at a time is very time consuming should be able to hit like CTRL and the selected folders and move them all at once same thing for deleting them should apply 2) yes i want the new files to remain grouped a "Temp" folder would be nice. 3) object well we know we can add a discription for them but what a pain how about say "object 25" meaning the prims count is 25 for that objets. hey what do i know just tossing it out there. Hackish method, but open up another inventory window to minimize the amount of scrolling. Still doesn't preclude the fact that you, sir, are ABSOLUTELY right about the multi-selection and multi-whatever of selections.

Updating scripts would be much eiasier to do (I was planning on doing an offline database to do this manually) an automatic system would be exceptonal.
