Ctrl key is evil

Is there a way the Rotate function can be applied to something other than the ctrl key? It is almost impossible to select other smaller objects to link them with that large Rotate orb popping up.

Maybe have Alt key as the rotate, and shift+alt as stretch.

Alt is for moving the camera. don't mess with it.

I always use shift to select multiple objects for linking, not control. Or are you talking about something else?

Although a system to setup your own keyboard shortcut keys would help out this kinda situation.....

Just do it by hand with the numbers! 90 is 1\4 of a turn 180 is 1\2 a turn. All you have to do is put it on the right Axis.

it gets complicated if you want a more complex rotation.

Maybe I misread Stauf's post? It sounded like he was doing something besides rotating, that used the ctrl key, and the orb that poped up as a result of using the ctrl key was getting in the way?

Yeah, I rotate using the numbers on most subsequent prims but what i'm talkin about is when you go to select multiple prims to link them together. Every time I use trhe shift key I end up dragging something. Even better i dea I think is have the option for a large, small or no Rotate orb graphic. That would fix it for me anyway.
