I'm sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere. I did do a search and came up empty handed.

I've found that it would be handy to be able to send emails to resident members. When being at work I don't have acess to SL but at times have found I need to contact a resident inworld and been at a loss.

Is there a feature now that allows you to send communication via email to a resident and have it show up in IM? Can there be a feature like that created?

I'm aware that it would most likely open the door for spamming but I was curious.

If you have "recieve IMs by email" set then you can reply to that email and it will be sent as an IM in world back to them (there's a time limit in which you can do this but I think it's days rather than hours).

Alternatively you could try zonkster..

I would imagine the spam question is a huge problem and will probably prevent any improvement on this...

Five days from the moment you recieve it. If you email after that LL will bounce back with a message saying that the session was expired and that it's ony active for five days.

Oh.. but remember not to include their message in your reply and get rid of your signature to make it easier for it to be read!

Yes, there is a characater limit, so by deleting the original message, you will be able to fit more reply in.
