I think a vBulletin forum is a great idea! They work so well! If not vBulletin, something similar. Such forum software pleases million of people around the world. It would be bound to work for SL and LL.

Every forum I use is vbulletin, it's a pity they are moving away from it.

A friend runs a few and has a spare license, wanted to know if I wanted to use it, but I don't see the point in trying to establish another sl forum somewhere, there are enough I think. The only problem is, so far none of them feel like home.

That would be awesome. So much customizing can be done.. It's fast & scalable. It's cheap. It's open source so hiring some fresh-out to fix it up would be cheap.

Seems like an easy decision to me!

It's a mark of maturity when someone or some entity, shall we say, gives up on a plan that isn't working in favour of a solution that would make far greater sense.

I'm registered at the vBulletin site, I think, maybe I should suggest that vBulletin start a virtual world.

People want to start their own and not go to one of the existing ones?

just chatted to my friend with vbulletin licenses, he says he can have one up and running in no time, but he doesnt want to do the day to day stuff, and unless I attached it to my blog/estate website we don't have a place for it. (he said something about registering a new name for it later and just moving it)

I think it's slightly crazy to consider doing this, but then it might just feel like home....eventually.

My suggestion is for Linden Lab to create a vBulletin forum.

I think we may have another Comedy Failure here.

As usual, ahead of your time, Suezanne! LL won't be saying this for another 1.5 years, at LEAST!
