I would like to see following addition to current mute:
Muting a resident should also mute ALL objects owned by muted resident including animation requests by items owned by muted person.
At a moment you can mute residents, but items owned by resident are not muted which griefers use for popup of death attack.

As long as it was an option, and not a blanket-muting of all things related to said citizen. I know it sounds crazy, but you may still want something or some action from that citizen even though you muted parts of their entity... Did that make sense? Perhaps a few tic-boxes with multiple options to mute...

I know what you are meaning, but residents for which I would like to see that tend to live less than 1 day before LL deletes them after bucketfull of abuse reports.

I vote for Kitty's proposal. Michael's selective muting would be OK, too, but total muting is really needed.
Attachments, scripts, gestures, sound FX...everything. Turn them off! Turn them all off!!

From: Darien Caldwell what is a popup of death? O.o It stacks popups (animation requests etc.) to your screen until client crashes. You can open them endlessly, but client can only handle limited amount of them. Very common griefer attack.

I agree on this. Mute button should give you the option to mute the object in question, or all objects owned by that person. Muting a resident should give you the option to ignore only certain things from that user, or just ignore everything, including their objects.
For example, if you know someone you talk to a lot who as a number of annoying objects, then you may mute only their objects but continue to talk to them.

Personally, I think they need a mute option whereby the muted person, and everything owned by them, including effects generated by objects owned by them, simply cease to render on your client entirely, including being effectively phantom as far as your avatar is concerned.
In fact, it should be reciprocal.
