Yes I know how we all love Permissions, but another thread in General made me think of this.

A Resell Permission, checked would allow the item to be resold, unchecked would mean you could not resell the item.

This would give people even more controll over how their items are redistributed through-out the world.

i wholly support this. i'm sure the idea of merging resell and transfer into one option seemed good over stale donuts at three-o-clock in the morning. but it's time to give them their own little checkboxes.

How does this prevent the 'here give me $10 and I will give you this item' scenario? I mean, it seems to me to make as much since as making a visible script no copy. The work around is trivial and opens up potential scams. "Hey, I have this really awesome object X but its only transfer no resell, you give me $100 and its yours!" ... newb01 gives $100 and POOF! no more seller.

I prefer security / DRM methods and techniques that take more than 1 extra step to circumvent.

Ama is right, we still have vendor scripts that could give the object to people upon payment.

I really wish there were a system which would put a stop to this though, but I can't really see anything that would work 100% of the time.

Ah that is true, didn't think of that.

Bah, damn logic, it strikes again!
