A lot of people (ok, a few people [ok, some people, <ok, me and feniks>]) have a one-member group that belong to that they use to add something to their name.

Could we have something like a "status" field to fufill this purpose? Like the ";(AWAY)" that gets stuck on your name when you are away, but user settable?

Furthermore, in the group settings, would it be possible to allow titles to go before or after the name?

Also furthermore, could titles and the proposed "status" be made to look different from the avatar's name proper? Maybe iticalized or a different colour or something?

a possible misuse of titles...

These titles are great fun. Well worth the $100Linden.
Entertaining for others too.

But I think established group names need to be "reserved" words which we can not use. For instance, I can change my title to any group name, tell some n00b that I will set them up in this forged group for a mere $500 Linden and then go on my way.

I can put Liaison in front of my name and really have fun with some poor confused n00b.

I could tell someone my group permissions are not working and could I have a copy of that great script please?

Or so on....

another possible abuse

Are "certain" words disabled when it comes to titles? After all, "adult" avs can go on PG sims. All we need is someone running around with a profane title.

bp has a one person group for the same reason -- I borrowed the idea from him and have (had? I'm sure it's expired by now) a one person group as well. Lots of fun being "She Who Rules All" and "Dan & Ben Groupie" among others =)

I agree there should be something different about the title -- in quotes or in another color or something. We have been called "Royal" more times than We can remember, and while We do not mind being called Royal, We also really do like Our chosen name.

I also like the sound of reserving group names / titles. At the very least, "Liaison" should be reserved, because a newb wouldn't necessarily know that all Liaisons carry the Linden name.

But as far as saying "my group permissions aren't working" -- that's an easy one to disprove -- all they have to do is look at your profile and see if said group name is listed in your groups box. (Again tho, a newb might not know to do that)
