Me and a friend were talking about business in SL earlier and when we came to the subject of classified ads, she asked me if i thought it would be better to have categories in the classified search, as in a classified list per categorie.
For example subtabs under classifieds where you can chose your categorie first and then enter what you're looking for in the search field. Just like on xstreet there could be categories like skins, clothes, accesories, furniture, homes, scripts, etc. That way i think it would make searching allot easier and less messy and also prevent the abuse of unrelated keywords. This way the merchant can chose in what categorie to pay for an ad, and it would only appear in that categorie. It would make things less clutterd and people searching for shops would find what they are looking for more easily and faster rather then staring at the endless list of completly diffrent shops, completly unrelated in what they sell.
I think that it would make competition among merchants more fair, becouse you wouldn't have to try and pay more then completly unrelated shops offering something completly diffrent. You would directly advertise towords your target market, wich is people looking for the type of product you sell.
I would even find it better then all search, wich i personally still don't like.
