As for those of us who get by on votes, ratings, and money from classes restricting newbies to 4 regions is going to hurt us. I would suggest that we are allowed to teach classes in the welcome area, to the newbies.

Also I see no harm in having an "Avatar Central" store in the newbie region where we all could sell our advanced objects, clothing, scripts to these new folks. It would give them the oppertunity to play with and check out more than they see but still limit these things to this area.

I believe this would give the newest players a better understanding of what can be done in SL.

Basic building is great but a little guidence on a particular object is even better. Great I can build a box, OR, Whoo Hoo I just built a radio! Which would you of rather done when you were new?

I know how to build but I always check out Candie Apples classes, Why? She has some great ideas and they inspire me to come up with my own classes. She has a "Build a radio class" that is complete with textures. Textures cost money to upload. If it weren't for ppl buying the texture packs at a small fee I dont see how she could continue to hold classes for free. The majority of ppl who take these classes are newbies. The majority of ppl who have been to my events/tours are newbies. I am in the same situation. I understand I will have to wait to show these new ppl the places I think are way kewl. BUT I dont see any reason my other suggestions cannot be considered.

Thanks for listening :D

AV Central in Welcome Area is an awesome idea.

There is a new class area North of the welcome area now. :)

newbies cant rate and they cant spend any money. Please check out the other threads on the new trial areas for all the details.

Bring on the events in the welcome area

Catherine - Everyone is encouraged to offer events in the welcome area. Feel free to use the Stage 4 area. Just make sure you check for events already scheduled before you post yours -it's too crowded to have more than one event there at a time.

A Monopoly-money Avatar Central Outlet in the trial area would be nice, so trial users can buy and try out things that other people have brought into the Four Sims region.

The technical details of this do not concern me! :)

Haney; That is excellent. I stopped by that area last night and checked out the building area and won a little cash for a hutch I created in the Stage 4 area (thanks to everyone who voted :D much appreciated) Do the same rules apply in these areas for us paying members? Do we get the 500$L for teaching the class? To give away as prizes? Also are newbies allowed to win the prize money?

Just wondering;

Good Idea, Schwartz! Also, some of the designers might think about building a loyal clientele by giving a few free samples to the trial newbs.

I like that idea. Truth is I was cranky 'cause they cant buy. They have limited funds meant for building but the buying experience is important too. Problem is how do you limit ppl exploiting the easy trials so I see why they did this and I support it. Mostly.

Maybe they can be allowed small purchases? Items under say $50? And maybe limited transactions? Say they cant blow more than $100 in total? Some sort of balance of allowing them to do *some* instead of none. I'm really unsure if someone would go to the trouble of creating accounts for the gain of a mere $100... hmm.

Except now that there's no CC requirement, there's no way to verify addresses, either. It would be fairly simple for me to create 10-20 pseudonyms, spend my $100 on widgets, and move on to the next fake account.

At least with the credit cards they were able to do some sort of address comparisons to attempt to determine whether a new account was a "same household" account.
