OK a lot of people, myself included, agree that 10 votes is not enough. There are more than 10 completely valid proposals at any point even AFTER you filter out all the duplicates.

What i want is very simple. Anyone can apply ONE vote to as many proposals as they wish. The first vote never costs anything. But everyone has 10 'bonus' votes. So if i REALLY like a given proposal i can apply additional votes to up to 10 proposals of choice, or dump them all on the same one.

This would let people place their favor on any proposal meriting it while still not allowing utterly unlimited votes.

my thoughts exactly...

I absolutely agree. I don't look much at the features but as I was checking them out today, this same thought occured to me. Shortly after, I found this prop. I'm sending all my votes into it because if it works out, voting for everything else will be much better.

Think about this everyone... you can vote for anything you want. It really is a good thing, and I think more accurately shows what the users of SL want.

I would vote on it if I had any votes to spare, bah, a vicious spiral :(

I think they limit it to 10 because lindens also have limited programmer to work on those votes. Too much votes spreaded out will not do any good to them since it won't help them decided which one to do first. They probably can only do a few at a time anyway :P

Me neither...

Haravikk, I didn't either, but I shifted them all to here because this feature will make voting for every other prop better. Just do it for now and if/when this is finally passed, we can all go and vote for Everything we like.

Nargus, the way I understand it, unlimited single votes would not allow unlimited proposals. We'd have the same number of props as we do now. The only difference is there would be a better representation of how many of us are for those props.

I can say from my own experience, limited to 10 votes I became uninterested in new props before long. What was the point in reading more, when to vote for new props meant to unvote for others? And surely I can't spend the time needed to read every prop, compare them all, and choose my top 10.. :( It's just not practical for me.

I don't think LL would get overwhelmed by seeing more votes for existing props, nor would they see a difference in the rate of new props. They'd only get a better idea of what we want. I suppose each person could still be limited to 10 proposals of their own, using the 10 bonus votes Seronis suggested. Or whatever they like.

Sorry and ty. Did intend to imply that the only way to start a proposal would be by using one of your optional votes. Did NOT want people creating infinate proposals. There also needs to be a stipulation that if the creator of a proposal removes their vote the proposal is automatically abandoned. Put on the queue for deletion. And upon removal anyone with more than one vote gets their balance recredited for their 'extra' votes.
