Group Notice Time Limit?

Hey,

I was wondering if there would be a way to put an expiration on group notices? For example: when I get home from work I'll log in and receive a bunch of notices for events that happened eight hours ago. It would be a nice feature to see group notices expire two hours after they're sent (about the length of an average event). That way, people don't have to wade through zillions of notices when they first log in.

This may also increase the amount of traffic to events as people will be less apt to automatically (or accidentally) delete notices as they pour in upon log in. As the owner of a DJ fan group, I am concerned because even though I don't spam the group with notices, I know my own notices are being deleted automatically as people have to slog through other group spam.

What say you to this suggestion, O Mighty Linden?

This would be nice. Also nice would be a way for the group owners to manually delete messages that were no longer valid.

Amen. I think the current set up is notices are deleted automatically from the group at about 21 days (would have to check to be sure). Honestly, I think a week is about all that is necessary for notices to be active within the group.

They're deleted after 14 days, though it used to be 31 days, not too long ago...

According to the group notice tab I just checked, they disappear after 30 days.
