Ability to edit object contents while still in inventory!

Ok, so you have an object, perhaps a vendor, or something else with an object, notecard and/or script in it. Say you simply want to edit the contents of this item without having to rez it! Why can't we view and edit the contents of an object while it's still in inventory?!? Or perhaps you placed an object inside of another object that's rezzed. Now you need to quickly edit a notecard that is inside the object's inventory that is in another object. But you can't. Why not?

So it's very simple. Please give us the ability to edit the contents of an object, even if the object is in inventory or inside of another object!

Thanks, Mason

I like it, have wished for it. One real example - I have "promo-packs" I give out for advertising, etc. I like to customize them for the recipient, but I"m not always in a place where I can rez things to do that, so I have to stop what I'm doing, go home, rez the object, mess around with it, put it back in my inv (without confusing it with the other 8,000 identical objects I have in my inventory {don't ask, i'm a packrat}) and then give it to the recipient.

Whatta pain in the royal..but it helps business :P :)

I agree too.

But if you need to edit the contents of an object, such as notecards ect... in a no rez area, you can wear it (I usualy atach it to my right hand) and edit it that way. Not as good as being able to do it in inventry but a handy tip for no rez areas.

woohoo some support finally :P

But seriously, another negative side effect of not being able to do this is increased server and database load. If I have to re-rez a product, fix the script and then take it back into inventory, that creates another item in my inventory. My inventory is filled with objects like this. Sometimes you want a copy but other times it's just not necessary. The asset servers are already overloaded, so something like this could relieve some of that stress.
