I would love to be able to :

Have all properties displayed and be able to sort by :

Creator
date modified
date created
date recieved
last date given

oooh and imagine Tagging

Being able to Tag items with mutliples genres eg fun, house, party, electrical equipment etc....

so when a genre is selected items with this tag can be dislayed...a little buit better than the dreaded folders.

Yes, additional details on the inventory display would be very useful. You'd need to be able to select which fields you want listed though, as not everyone will be happy with a much wider inventory listing. As well as which field is used for sorting.

One of the ever-present issues for scripters is "Have I updated my inventory copy of that script that I'm editing inside my test object?", because editing a script in situ provides a faster development cycle. Certainly a last-modified datestamp in the inventory listing would alleviate that problem.

However, the inventory listing setup should be per-folder. not overall. Listing a folder of items created by others is rarely useful by date, whereas listing your own items by date is an extrermely common requirement.

A good approach then would be to have a listing order specified globally (or on the two top-level folders "Library" and "My Inventory";), and then allow that to be overridden on subfolders.

tagging

I would love to see tagging ability for inventory items. Here's an easy example: I own a black short skirt, appropriate for casual wear or club wear. If we could tag inventory items I could tag it black, short, skirt, casual, club. And then could search on any one of those features rather than trying to remember what the designer called it, which may or may not include any of those words.

They would have to greatly improve the asset server, which we all know is hanging by a thread at any given moment, to be able to add all of this extra information about items. they have been getting RID of things (ratings, online indicator in search, etc) lately to reduce asset server load. Great idea, but....

To Ocean: You can do that, as long as it is modifyable, simply by renaming the object black short skirt. Then if you type black in the search box, you will find it, same with short, or skirt.
I should probably try to clear 90 percent of my inventory its realllly frickin crazy

PS congrats on your first post
