Hiyas, I would like to know what you think about a feature change suggestion regarding Parcels Prim limits, like extra prims.
How it works now:
On private islands it is possible to set an object bonus, as a multiplier, to increase the prim limit on parcels. The total prim limit on a Region is fixed though, so if you increase the object bonus you have to be sure to control the total prims all over the Region.
The example that you can find in the knowledge base about a region with 4 4k parcels, lets's say for rent or for sale, with double prims limit works if you (region owner) can make sure that the ramaining parcel(s) on the region will use less prims than they are allowed.
Now, I would like to give extraprims, same way with object bonus multiplier it's ok, to just ONE particular parcel, and not to ALL parcels. That would make it easyer to control which other parcel(s) will need to use less prims.
I own a region I share with friends, each of us "owns" their parcel. I left an 8k parcel that is mostly water, so i won't need 1875 prims there, and i'd rather give extraprims to one of my friends who owns a 4k parcel. I would love to be able to set an object bonus just to THAT parcel. Let's say i set the bonus at 2, i could allow his parcel to have prims like an 8k parcel, and i could easily control the water 8k parcel and limit its usage to 937 prims (as a 4k).
The only way i could do that now would be to cut the water 8k into 2*4k parcels and join one of it to my friend's (that's not always a good way as tha land might be shaped and parceled in a way that would make that impossible to realize). Or give set an object bonus and then make sure that all other parcels owners won't exceed their initial prim limits (as they'd all would have double prims allowed on their parcels).
This might be very helpful to avoid mistakes when you see parcels with more prims you expect for their size.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, i searched the forum and the feature voting but i didnt find much.
Thanx^^
PS: for a more clear management of prims allowance, it might be good when you set a positive bonus to some parcel, that you SHOULD set a negative equal bonus to another parcel, so that the total prim allowance won't ever exceed the region max allowed.
