I really hate it if I dance with a friend in a nice ballroom where you talk in IM and don't realise for minutes, that I'm already crashed because the sound and animations continue and the text in the IM window seems to be send to the partner. If I start wondering then, that there is no response, I type some ping text in chat and if that doesn't appear, I'm crahed, for my partner I'm already vanished.

Why not to implement a simple heartbeat between the client and the server to check, whether you're still on?

There is an indicator, but for some reason LL likes to keep it a dark secret. The mini map will take on a reddish color when that happens. A couple of the unofficial viewers look for the red map and put up a dialog so you don't have to keep an eye out for it.

Thanks for that hint. I'll have an eye on that next time. LL really should really display a message when that happens.
