More Avatar stats?

Hi all,

Here's a suggestion that I believe will attract more people to SL. It has been my experience that a lot of people like statistics in games. It provides a gauge for some to track how "well" they feel they are doing.

I know that SL is not a game in that way, but it has some of those elements. There are some places (e.g. The Outlands) that bring up the Health monitor on the avatar's HUD. Presumably, this is for being able to guage one's health during combat or other games. Why stop there?

I propose the following:

Provide an option for every avatar to turn on "COMPETITION MODE", which enables a new set of user stats during combat or competition. These stats can include Health, Strength, Stamina, Armor, and possibly others like Speed, Marksmanship, etc.

Now these stats can be used wherever they are allowed during gaming events, otherwise they are ignored. The stats could increase on use based on game outcomes or battles fought.

This simple (or not so simple) addition would inspire many to start building more interesting gaming areas. Can you imagine having the power to create your own little adventure land, quests, or battles?

Maybe for a future future release? :)

Most all of that can be done with scripting - what is missing is the pretty window to display it all.

However you did make me think. :)

We have the leader boards, but I think a My Stats page should be added to it, which lists for quick reference your numbers and standings in all the leader boards. For example:
CODE
Rating WkChge	WkPos	AllNum	AllPos
-------- ------ ----- ------ ------
Behavior 4 168 36 142
Building 2 360 25 495
Apparence 6 86 54 45

But also add some more stats:
- total time played (ever, week, day)
- Average time played (per day or week)
- Kills (ever, week, day)
- Deaths (from others - ever, week, day)
- Suicides (ever, week, day)
- Objects owned in world

hm I'm sure there are more.

I would like to vote against features that encourage people to kill more, and features that encourage stat-builders. This is my opinion.
