"Camera View Angle" Capabilities

Basically I'm suggesting to make it so there's hot-keys to adjust the camera view angle settings and/or making it so scripts can modify it, making it so you do not have to enter the preference menu to change the settings. This would open up not only "sniper scope" combat capabilities, but also allow people who play primarily in mouse-look the ability to see the detail of further away objects (like a sign) without having to move their avatar or exiting mouse-look mode.

I submitted it to the New Feature request on the beta tracker here: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14517

Please vote for it there if you like the idea!

NOTE: This is now only for the scripting, not the hot-keys! There already are hot-keys for adjusting this I didn't know about: CTRL+8/9/0

What would be the difference between "hot-keys to adjust the camera view" and what control 0, control 9, and control 8 already do currently?

Ah, I didn't know about those new hot-keys added. With that I suppose I can just take it off the tracker, but I'll just edit it and leave it up anyhow for the scripting part of it. Thanks for asking the question, leading me to find that out.

I think Control 0, Control 9, and Control 8 go back at least as far as December 2003.

Well I haven't played very often and I made no effort to find out what all the hot-keys did; there was way too many for an extremely lazy person such as myself to bother with. I didn't find out about the Camera View Angle until recently; which you could probably assume, and correctly so. Thanks again for the knowledge.

The SL Wiki has what I think is an abridged keyboard shortcut chart at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Help:Keyboard_shortcut_keys .

Also there is what claims to be a complete chart at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/All_keyboard_shortcut_keys.

Also there's a printable PDF file at http://www.kippiefriedkin.com/2008/07/25/second-life-viewer-cheatsheet/

Also also also there's another PDF file at http://www.hippasus.com/resources/secondlife/SL_Keyboard_Shortcuts.pdf

Also there's an option to turn on or off the display of hotkey info on the menu display.

Scripted control of the zoom level sounds like it might be neat.
