Can we get an option that defaults the chat bar to 'off' when we log on?
How about one for when we say something it turns off too?
I'm used to chat systems in other games where you -have- to push a button before speaking, and having the chat bar defaulted to on after a single line of text tends to make me forget it -is- on. Then when I move around (with WASD) I end up doing wwwwwwwwwww or sssssssssss or something. Irritating.

Prefrences > Chat > Close chat bar after pressing return. [X]
That might be what your after.
