How about some chat channels that arent restricted to 100 meter shouts. How about they be shouting ALL around the world. That way, we wouldn't have to have to deal with 100 meter restrictions for some objects. Just an idea

Because then we would be constantly spammed with folks shouting for their friends 10 sims away. You can do "conference IMs if you want to talk to multiple people at once from anywhere in the world - just put the calling cards you want in the IM into a folder, right click, and choose "IM online users" - now everyone in that folder who is online will be able to talk without the whole world having to listen.

Actually I believe he is just talking about setting some of the chat channels that objects can use (and people can't) to global. That way -objects- could talk to each other from around the world.
There are something like 2 billion channels available, and setting aside ~1k of them for such use I think might not be a bad idea. And maybe also another 1k channels set for 'sim wide' range. Of course they say IM's between objects is comming to a SL near you soon so maybe it's moot. But even then for communication between several objects over long distances..... |

Yes, I was referring to chat channels other than 0.

Jack... good idea... but I don't want to see it in my channel... maybe a tab in the IM window... like general with the option that it stays in that window
