I got to thinking, what would be a good idea to help keep the land looking nice where people won't screw it up. My solution came as a kinda reminder of another game I used to play so here it is. Ok we all want to keep the land looking nice right? Well here's my idea: Have it where new people that sign on for the finalized game or part of the game are able to only buy land at a certain price. In other words, when new people first start out they are limited by the land they can buy as in the land costs them more to buy then the veteran users.

Over a certain period of time that the user is in-world the costs of that land gradually go down, the longer they are in-world. I think this would dramatically change peoples minds for screwing up land. If they can't buy enough land with the money they start out with the land will not change.

This would actually be a rewards system that would congratulate the player on whatever the time set fourth was that they wanted to buy a certain piece of land to change. Since not every person that joins on can be monitored for what they do in the game, this would promote people to act accordingly in the game and follow the standards of each region set fourth by whomever is in charge of it.

I think this would greatly increase group participation and decrease ugly land blemishes. Not that they couldn't buy any land at all, but what can you really do to a 4x4 plot, as in changing the look of the land there? Not much. 4x4 is still enough to sell stuff on.

I like this, limiting new users abilities to mess up veteren user's parcels of land is definately a good idea. Plus, it stears newbies more into learning how to play better and socializing rather then plopping themselves down on their settlements the minute they get IW.

how about charging veteran players more for land since they have way more money to burn and more ability to make money than newbies? :)
