Get SL chat get out of stoneage

Secondlife badly need better chat and actually options like irc use.

Right now Secondlife chat is like;

Secondlife badly lacking Highlight
add your own word phrases to be highlighted in various colors you set, why? so you can easier pay attension to someone saying your name, items, objects, whatever would end up in a diffrent color on your chat.

Secondlife avatar name should be easier to spot not blend in with same color as rest of chat to, hense the option to change every avatar name bold/cursiv/color and option to change your friends name to show up diffrent color in chat (see highlight)

Seriously look at irc its been doing it since forever, hell monochrome altering colors on every second line is easier to read then SL's 1 color spam over entire screen.

(this would be alot easier to actually type in what i mean, if your damn WYSIWYG worked)

I was just thinking of that yesterday. I was in a crowded area with alot of cross-talk, and I was editting a notecard at the same time. I could do nothing to limit the cross-talk and the notecard was necessary, but it occurred to me how useful it would be if my name and nickname would appear in a different color, in the chat, just in case someone was trying to address me. This way, I could go back and read the chat later, and just glance occassionally at the chat window for my highlight name while I focused on the notecard. In other words, it would make it easier to mullt-task.

I support your feature suggestion, however, you could have worded it more politely and constructively. Please consider re-wording it in another post, and create a feature voting item for it.

Open Preferences and turn on Bubble Chat.

Makes it about 5 times easier to keep track of a single person's conversation
