Face/Mask Clothing Item

I would like to suggest that a new clothing option be added for a "mask" clothing item. Currently, there is no way to add textures, tattoos, or any other details to your face without making a new skin. This is highly inefficient and costly. Many pay a lot for skins, but can't use them if they want to have a mask, tattoo, or other detail on their face. Your only option would be to try and order a custom skin if you want to have a good look with your facial adornment, unless you are a good skin maker already.

This new feature would add to convenience, and to the economy. Tattoo dealers could just worry about making their tattoos, without tethering their customers to whatever skin they can cook up. New make up artists can create make up textures to add over your current skin so that you can have several different make up options without ever having to change skins. Skin dealers could make their skins "make up compatable" and sell several separate make up options that go best with that skin. Masks for ninjas, samurai, and superheroes would be easier. And, I suppose scars could be added as well, if anyone desired to have one.

This new feature would add so much more possibilities, and would require very little to implement. It would just be an added layer of texture and would not require any new geometry to add. So, it's even easy on the Lindens.

I found that this proposition had already been made about a year and a half ago, but never recieved any recognition or reply from the Lindens, so I propose we bring it back. Vote for "Proposition 408". It's just been sitting there with 66 votes for a long time.

Thank you for your time.

I have several masks, you just attach a prim to your face, and texture it with alpha transparencies.

A prim mask is all well and good for certain situations, but not most. Prims are not easily formed to the shape of your face. And there is no way to use them to accurately recreate make up or a tattoo. Being confined to prims to add textures to a face is like having no clothing options and having to make all your shirts and pants out of prims. Very difficult and less appealing.
