Wouldn't this be great so it would take time to relog when you need to and especially time saving to those of us who have more than one account.

The bulk of the login and logout procedure is just downloading inventory. There isn't really much that you can do to speed that up. A "quit to login screen" button wouldn't really offer any speed increase, since you'd just have to download it all again anyway. In fact, the "downloading inventory" indicator you see when you connect to SL isn't actually tied to anything -- the only purpose it serves, so far as I can tell, is to give your client some time to download the surrounding textures and geometry, so your first look at SL isn't half-loaded. You're already connected, it's just blanked out your display. If they're going to change this stuff, I kind of wish that they'd at least make that delay optional. If I'm already in SL, I want to be able to move around and chat, I don't want to have to sit around waiting an extra couple of seconds. I don't really see the point to doing this. It really wouldn't offer any added convenience, and would just be one further thing that could break or cause tech support nighmares. ("No, you actually have to CLOSE SL for those changes to take effect, not just log out and back in."

I wish during out incommunicado periods on login and logout we would be invisible so people didn't try to talk to us. Every single time I have ever logged out near someone since I started playing SL I get a black screen and the logout progress bar and hear them typing something to me which, of course, I always miss. That's a lot of missed messages. Either make us invisible until we can interact with the world (login) and invisible from the moment we logout, or at least mute our sound so we don't hear all those missed messages. I forgot to mention, I've also head IM dings when I'm logging out. I can't read them and naturally they are gone the next time I login because I was "there" to receive them.
