Given what's in the latest developer's journal, would it be possible to add some new complicated prims, with the condition that they enter the world phantom, and their phantomness can't be turned off?

What's the difference between simple and complicated primitives? I'm thinking Flintstones would be simple primitives, so would the cast of Quest for Fire be complicated primitives? Just asking.

In the latest developer journal, Andrew talks about the late lamented spiral primitive that was just too complicated phyically to be allowed.
Our good friends Mr. Tube and Mrs. Torus might go in to this catagory too.

I would go for being able to position the hollow/cut/topsize/etc..... you get the point. Building is quite open for ideas, but still is quite limited. Imagine if we were able to do the above mentioned how many primes we could cut from complicated builds...and yes complicated prims would be nice

Okay, if certain complex objects are too complicated physically...would it be a major sin (and reasonably possible) to simplify those physics by using a simpler object for purposes of those types of calculations? For example a spiral would act like a cylinder of approximately the same size/shape, or whatever. Don't know how this might effect things like collisions (which might also be a problem anyway). Not a perfect solution or a simple one but I guess it's better to have the things than not...oh bleh I'm being asked to go do some work...geez!  (Actually, OOP might make doing that very easy...)

Oh i can MAKE A spiral for anyone who wants, but I think he means one that is shaped like a bent wire / cable and is correctly coded for physics (And one object instead of the 3-5+ it would take now).
