search inventory by creator name

Here Here, this feature long overdue. Not sure if that data is available on the client side currently but hopefuly if offline inventory is developed it will be included in the spec.

What happens with objects that show no-creator though? Or (multiple)?

Objects that display "Unknown" would show up when you search for "Unknown". Objects with mulitple creators would show up if you searched for "Mulitple".

I'm not sure of exactly what info is stored in the inventory for objects that show multiple creators. If there is a record of the creator of a prim in the inventory item record, that item should show up even if the creator name field in inventory displays as multiple because the objects includes prims or textures or scripts from other people.

Expecting the system to investigate the contents of items or to acquire information that isn't available till the object is rezzed is not reasonable. It would be great, but it ain't gonna happen.

The creator name is not stored in the inventory. The creator's key is.

I suppose the system would look up the key of a name you supply, then check your inventory for anything that had a matching key.
