Hi all,
Given the obviousness of this idea, it's probably been proposed already at some point; nevertheless, I feel it's important enough that I bring it up again.
It's always bothered me that there's no way to get a definitive list of things you own in the world -- things that are costing you tax every week -- and where they are. Just now, I added up all of the tax on the land I know I own, and didn't come up to the amount I was charged last week. Scratching my head, I managed to track down one parcel in the middle of the old Benton Cho in Varney just by randomly clicing around in the area. Unfortunately, I still seem to own land somewhere that I don't know about, since the amounts still don't agree. This is not good.
Since the system (presumably) has to iterate over all primitives and all pieces of land owned by each player anyway, would it be too difficult to list these items in the Account window? In the case of primitives, just the number of them and their approximate coordinates would be fine. For land, just how many 4x4 pieces and even more approximate coordinates would be fine. I think this would cut down a fair bit on the amount of abandoned resources being wasted in the world.

Under this same general topic, I'd like to suggest that we be allowed to have multiple financial accounts. I have a business to put together. Then I'm going to have to figure out how to keep the company books. I think that would be a LOT easier if I had a separate company account(s) with an accurate history of credits and debits.
I sure think it would LOOK better if the money weren't always bouncing around in my own pocket all the time ;-)

Kathy thats a good one to post under UI thread. The accounting here is very confusing. It was once broken out and "explained" but this much I think could be figured out. One thing that still makes no sense to me is on my summary and details pages, my bonus/stipend always has a thousand dollar difference. There is also the fact that selling via script turns money into "gifts" from unidentified sources. I have to manage my store by feel rather than fact which is difficult at best. I do agree we need better accounting. Customized would be even better

Mis, remember the wonderful days when there wasn't -any- detail in the account history? =)
As far as selling via script, we can fix those scripts to IM you with the purchaser and object name (or to email you, which is my personal choice until object IM's get put back into their own IM window)
I agree that more details in the account details pages would be a Very Good Thing!

Dare to dream! hehe Dare to dream, eh? Ok, here's my dream... a new scripting function: llIncreaseMyBandwidth(key id, float speed) *speed is in Mbps Ok, Lindens, you now have a choice -- either give us more details in our account history window, OR give me the above *working* function =)

From: someone Originally posted by Bob Brightwillow Since the system (presumably) has to iterate over all primitives and all pieces of land owned by each player anyway, would it be too difficult to list these items in the Account window? Just an alternate suggestion of a way of obtaining the same information you're asking for, Bob -- What if, instead of in the account history window, we were given an additional folder in our inventory, named something like "In World". This folder and its contents would not be modifiable by us -- only by the system. In it would be listed every object by name which is currently in world. All parcels of land would also be listed. Doubleclicking on an object in this window would bring up a window showing: rez cost, weekly tax amount, location (sim & co-ords). Bonus points if items in this folder also showed us in some way (name in italics, perhaps?) if said item is not on land owned by us (either public or someone else's land). Parcels of land that we own would do the same basic thing when doubleclicked -- window pops up with a summary of the how much's and where. Heh.. how's that for dreaming big, Mis? =)
