A limit of 10x10x10... I think it's too small. 25 would be better
a lot of people make bigger buildings then 10x10x10 so that means they have to user more objects then needed.
I understand why there is a limit, but 10x10x10 is too small I think...

Bigger would be cool I think but its just scary the power we have already with 10^3....
Were you around when I had the Giant Angel Statue up? It was huge, seen from 2-3 sims away, the only reason it wasnt bigger was due to the fact that the head was 1 prim (sphere) and i couldnt make it proportionate without limititing it to that. Bigger can be better, but remember, power utimately corrups, and utimate power corrupts absolutly... or however that goes. But I have to say, if one 40^3 prim is easier on the server / client than 8 10^3 prims then its the best way... just make them pay for it! |

I have to ask. How did you make a 10,000x10,000x10 box anyhow?

Sorry Matina. Although I do hold powers special enough to create massive giants of objects, it does not work in reverse.
My biggest cylinder? Same size as the cube, since all you have to do is a base-primitive change ![]() And for the record, no I won't tell you how to make large objects, yes it is fixed in v1.1, no I won't give you any large objects, yes I can make them larger than 10k in any dimension, no it doesn't crash anything, yes you can see your entire map covered up by a single object, no you cannot make them physical as they go "off world" in an instant (depending just how large it is) and finally, yes, I will sign an autograph. _____________________

I for one would really like a 20 meter dome. It would satiate my laboratory needs.
Heh, did anybody else see the giant geodesic dome someone built in Olive? That thing was GIGANTIC. |

They can be bigger.... cover an entire sim....
Dave I'm going to try to catch you online some time before 1.1 goes live. I had an idea a little bit ago, just a 1 time temporary stunt that I would like to try and this would make it easier to put together / clean up. Side note: Why... exactly... wont they let us have these bigger prims? I know I make the argument that some things would be made to be HUGE but if your paying for it.... |

Well for one thing each prim is made of triangles, and not all prims are created equal. There's a lot less triangles on a cube than there are on a sphere.
The larger a sphere gets, the more obvious those triangles are. To prevent that obviousness, the triangles have to be increased exponentially. That's one theory anyway. The other one is that there's a limit of 30 prims on an object if you want to make it physical, and if the prims could get much bigger then we'd be able to make much bigger physical objects. |
