I would like to see the Second Life interface also available as a 'Portable App' that will run directly from a USB Flash Drive.
This way we could take our Second Life almost anywhere from friends computers to Internet Cafes, but have the main interface on personal Hardware.

Can you tell me where the internet cafes are that have the horsepower to run this ? Not many starbucks have 512 Nvidia GPUs in the piblic "beater boxes".
But to answer your question , ANY program can be portable if the OS is also portable, if you boot from the portable it can be configured to ignore the rest of the supplied hardware.

you can do this already, just install second life on your flash drive, I've got one I use when traveling, and it's worked great on 3-4 computers
