Yes, please change this. It's highly annoying.

I'd rather see them stop moving my camera when I OPEN the edit panel, hehe.

It's funny - we have been asking for this feature for such a very long time. Seems like it would be an easy fix?

It should be easy to do, they probably just need one conditional in the code.

if(user_preferences.getPref(AUTO_EDIT_CAMERA)){
adjust_camera_as_always();
}
// else do nothing

Add a "Don't move my camera" preference item that, when selected, prevents SecondLife from moving the camera target and viewpoint when a window (edit, appearance, etc.) is opened. I'm sure there are a few depraved individuals out there who like the current system ;)

I umpteenth this motion. I was working in a relatively small space today and this was making me loco. What I would really like would be an explicit camera object that I could just put where I wanted. I don't know how they would integrate that into the interface, but the basic functionality is certainly already there.

Ctrl-3 does that.

Ctrl-3?

Really, I just want "hands off" camera positioning in SL....don't touch my freakin camera position! Although, I guess the "auto zoomin" thing where you zoom in a bit when the camera happens to enter a wall or something is good. (Happens alot in tight spaces.)

Hands off camera movements would be nice, yes... I am alwats getting a look at an object and I close the edit window and WHAM.. looking at the back of my head again. (Although I must say it is a NICE looking back of my head:)

Speaking of camera.. I'd really like bounding box type objects. HOuses really need a box you can say, "Don't auto-move the camera out of this box!" so when you walk around you don't end up staring at the ceiling or the ground when you are in a small room.

Drathor, that's a great idea that probably deserves a complete thread of it's own here...

Maybe this could be another checkbox on prims/objects to say that a camera cannot pass through it, below the four checkboxes that are there now ("lock", "physical", etc).

I want SL to read my mind and put the camera where I want it, at all times, automatically..........mmmm.
