I have some skyboxes for rent and as it's required, from a competitional point of view, to give the tentants a certain prim allowance, I want to as well. If I don't, people will choose to rent from others instead, who offer some additional prims so they can put some of their own objects and furniture in their rented homes.
The problem, as I see it, is that there's no possible way for me to be able to control what type of prims my tenants put on my land 24 hours a day. I cannot guard them all the time 24/7 and this means that the tenants could choose to set up hostile scripted items like security orbs, greeter orbs etc and if they're not skilled enough to adjust them correctly, those scripts could interfere with and disturb the neighbours and their parcels around my land. A badly adjusted security orb could kick my neighbours off their own land within a 96 meter radius or send them 20 greeting messages a minute *LOL*, in the worst case. I think you see my point. You might suggest that I should write a notecard with the terms and conditions for renting and make sure that I inform the tenants that it's forbidden to place hostile, scripted prims on the land. Believe me, I have written such a notecard. But you know how it is, some don't even care about reading notecards and some who do, still don't care about following any rules.
The risk I take by allowing some additional free prims to my tenants, is abuse reports to the LL from rightfully angry and disappointed neighbours and I guess I'm the one responsible for what my tenants do as I own the land, which means I'm the one who risks to be warned or banned in worst cases, not the tenants who actually caused it.
There's no possible way today to let land without offering some additional prims and I surely don't want to take the slightest risk to be banned from SL that I love so much. What do you, the Lindens, suggest I should do? Is there any way I can prevent this? Is there something I could do that I'm missing? Most people seem to let their land with additional prims and don't seem to have thought about this or maybe they know some workaround that I don't?
I think there should be a way to control scripts in the future, if possible. For example, there could be an option in the "About Land" menu to tick a box to prevent the effects of the scripts to escape the land parcel it's placed on. Then no neighbours would ever be affected by a badly (read noobish

If it's not possible to restrict and limit scripts this way, I think you should create a system where tenants are responsible for their own actions even if they live on other peoples land. This could also be controlled by some additional boxes to tick in the "About Land" menu, for example there could be a question like: "Do you have tenants on the land? In that case tick this box." If that box is ticked, a scroll down menu would appear, where I could choose the tenant's avatar name. This way the tentants of a land parcel would appear in a list in the "About Land" menu. LL would be able to see who actually is living on the land and thereby warn/ban the right person. The one who causes trouble.
Give me some feedback on this subject, please. I think this is a big problem in SL, all the scripts that escape land and affect people and land where they shouldn't do any harm or cause any disturbance at all. In the police blotter you can read about all cases with scripted items and the bans following them. I'm curious how other landlords deal with this problem and I'd really appreciate some info.
Please, any of you Lindens, can you help me? Any suggestions about what to do is very much appreciated.
I LUV SL!!!
