Each time I sell an object, my transaction history tells me the SIM in which the sale was made:
Date: 2007-05-29 18:28:15 Type: Object Sale Desc: How to Become a Millionaire in Second Life Region: Dakhanavar Source: Name Removed
Each time I buy and sell LAND, the transaction history doesn't tell me the SIM:
Date: 2007-05-25 14:57:44 Type: Land Sale Desc: 1536 Destination: Name Removed
This is LAND sales. Knowing the SIM would be really, really, really handy information to have about that sale.
And while I am on my rant, I want a GROUP transaction history. Obviously, that's tricky to show on each group member's login, but at least put it on the transaction history of the Group Founder.
I trust that 99.9% of the time, everything works fine. But there ARE times when land reverts to previous owner. That is impossible to track down when there isn't a record of what has been bought and sold.

YES - both of these are a really really big pain! Especially the group thing.
However, there is a way to tell what region the land sale was in. But this is a pain too, especially if you give away a lot of freebies and sell them for $0 in case you need to track them later.
You have to check the box to include $L0 transactions in the history. Each land sale appears as two transactions - the one where the money is transferred to you, like you listed below, and a second transaction, where the land is transferred to the buyer. This shows up as a $0 transaction in your history with a different transaction number.
For example:
321913XXX Date: 2007-05-20 11:40:34 Type: Land Sale Region: Dryas Destination: BUYER
321913XXX Date: 2007-05-20 11:40:34 Type: Land Sale Desc: 80 Source: BUYER
But you are right, it would be MUCH better if the region was included in the source transaction, so you wouldn't have to click the show $0 button and clutter up your screen with a bunch of stuff.
And with that, I must run. You might need more coffee to sort through the transactions history if you check that box! Good luck!

Another rant - I kind of would like to see the old 'in-game' transaction history return. A lot easier to find those sales when you get those IMs saying - I bought such and such - could you please...blah blah... - instead of waiting for my browser to open in game and do the password stuff and click here and there to get to transactions.
Still wondering why it was removed a few viewers ago.

The land reversion is a serious occurrence and does happen. If a sim crashes soon after a purchase, there's a good chance that the land will revert to the previous owner. I've seen this happen to a friend of mine, and thankfully it was resolved.

This is a fantastic idea for seeing the region land was sold from, but won't work for group land sales. I think it might help anyone who doesn't use groups for their land sales, though.

Yeah pretty much anything you want to track with group transactions is a lost cause. For people who are in the land business with more than one person, and need to sell through a group, I guess you are just out of luck. One of these days I'm gonna go fire up the JIRA thingie and put in some proposals.

from Resident Answers to Feature Suggestions, as this is exactly that type of thread. also, please refrain from "ranting" as it's not an acceptable practice in these forums. i haven't closed this thread, because it isn't REALLY a rant.. rather it's an observation and suggestion for a fix. (thank you for that) side note: it sounds like a reasonable idea.. why shouldn't Land transaction include the land being transacted?
