There ought to be a last name for former Linden Lab employees, such as FormerLinden, that doesn't give them any special abilities like the current employees have, but allows them to retain an account that others will recognize and be able to find easily. For example, instead of Robin Linden's account being removed, she'd have become Robin FormerLinden, and have her old inventory, non-Linden group membership, etc., to the extent appropriate for someone no longer on the payroll.

Linden Lab should implant a chip into former Linden's brains so we customers can text message them and ask them lots of inane questions.

It's not fair that they're allowed to escape.

When I do a people search for Cory Linden, or Katt Linden, or Ginsu Linden, I'd like to find something rather than nothing. The former employee might want to maintain their avatar identity rather than have it vanish.

At the very least a dormant record could be left, one that can't be used to log in with, saying something like "Cory Linden was one of the founders of Linden Lab, working with the company for years as Chief Information Officer. His employment with Linden Lab ended on such and such a date."

Sometimes old Linden account go to the real name of the person, i.e. Cory Ondrejka.

Sometimes (mostly) they don't.

Considering the mood of a lot of residents right now, If I were a fomer Linden, and wanted to stay in SL, I'd keep my previous status to myself.

That's a great idea! I don't know about FormerLinden though. It doesn't really roll off the tongue.

I'm sure the Residents of SL could help think up a better name. :)

Personally, I disagree with the idea. People would probably try to get favors out of them at the least, considering they might have 'connections'. At the worst, they'd be constantly pestered with questions, when it isn't their job to even have to deal with you anymore.

If they want to help people, it's not hard to make or join a group to do so, but they can't really offer any help beyond a normal avatar, so there's no point in distinguishing them.

Anyone own any inventory items built by Lindens who no longer have accounts?

I wonder when "Philip Linden" won't be in the database.

I know for one if I was former linden lab employee and I quit or got terminated I would want anything associated with my linden account deleted and removed for all time. because I know if I had been terminated and my name was still there it would bring up emotions and other things that people just do not want that enjoyed there time working for the lab.
