Here it is, sick of freezing griefers then watching them run off before you can have a nice chat about their behaviour or do anything interesting?

I voted for it.

Every Evil Overlord needs a MINIMUM five minute gloating period.

Voted for it...only felt the need to freeze someone once, and it wasn't nearly long enough to be able to ask them what the hell they thought they were doing.

A copy of the JIRA comments for anyone interested :)

The Freeze command for landowners is ridiculously short npwhere long enough to discus the frozen avatars behaviour and barely enough to get and eject and ban tagged to them. New users find the avatar in question can easily escape before they work out what is going on and what their options are.
I propose we extend the time period to 5 minutes.

I think 5 minutes might be a bit excessive but also think that the current thaw time is too short...

Remembering that if you want to unfreeze them in under 5minutes, you can do so as now, where they would be unfrozen before you even got to use the unfreeze command.
Personally I think if someone warrants freezing on your land, I think you should be able to leave them remaining frozen till you unfreeze them or leaving, but we have to set some time and 5 minutes gives you plenty of time to relate to them your feelings on their actions driving you too this, the next step is to eject them if they fail to behave.

Since a frozen person can't TP away, the currently-low thaw time is intended, I think, to limit the amount of harrassment an evil land owner can inflict on people.

There's a fine line between giving land owners enough time to do what they need to and not having freeze become a land-owners-only griefing tool. The current number is too low and I think 5 minutes is too long.

I think somewhere around 2 minutes would be enough - you can always re-freeze them - if the system also sent me a 30-second warning that the person will be thawing soon.

Not only can frozen avs not TP away, YOU can't even teleport them away via the Estate tools.

There's nothing to stop you from repeatedly freezing an already-frozen avatar to extend the freeze duration. I say leave it as it is.

Hmm maybe 2-3 minutes would be better with a reminder before they get free, well if they can't tp away even better still, perhaps some people would think twice about wasting other peoples time and resources if their own were at stake. Besides they can always log out. Eject & Ban aren't exactly "nice" estate tools either.
Why not be able to hold one of these clowns for a few minutes while you AR them or get old of a Linden, instead of just eject/banning them so they can go rez more sim crashing replicating cubes and particles on other peoples land?
Lag stops you refreezing them, I've had i happen, they are also able to jump up and down still making it harder to click them to refreeze. Then you got to got through the permissions "Do you really wasnt to freeze them thing". You spend so much time freezing them you don't have time to do an AR. Personally for some I would prefer to hold them for 15min if I have to and AR them than just send them off to continue being clowns elsewhere annoying dozens of

Yes, why should griefers get all the fun, gloating before ejecting them just makes the griefers day I think :)
I remember the reaction first time I used freeze on a newbie griefer who was running around using a push/orbit weapon on patrons indiscriminately, it said it all "WTF!"
I felt so relived and happy and was just contemplating my victory dialogue as he thawed and shot another 2 people before could click the bastard again to get eject/ban happening.

I think it's pointless to be honest, that it makes it a pain for anyone coming across any ridiculously aggressive landowners (hardly unknown) and that this whole "ha ha I will dress up the griefer" thing is very childish. Particularly considering one can always re-freeze indefinitely anyway.

Now, a _countdown_ would be useful.

Somewhere betweent 15 & 30 seconds, about the time it takes you to wonder "are they frozen?", you then might get to thinking "yay, got them!" as they resume running across your lands rampantly :)
