Uploading sound files

Ok, not sure how to start this but here goes...

I want the ability to upload .ogg files, maybe compressed a cartain way, instead of .wav files. The SL server takes *extra* time converting the .wav to .ogg already when we upload sound, so I believe that the ability should be granted to the user instead to compress their own sound. It would definately increase upload speed of sound files and decrease the amount of processing power needed server-side. Maybe the coders of SL could limit the .ogg to like 128 khz, to minimize the space needed for sound clips.

Ummm.. yeah, that seems like a good idea, but I have NO clue what you said, so... more power to ya!

To Aiosa and others:

Ogg is a compression format like mp3. It makes music smaller, except Ogg is closer to loss less - when you make an mp3 from a cd you lose some of the sound quality, when you make an Ogg from a cd you lose less sound quality.

And yes, I think this would be a good option.
