Arggghhhh.... my local cybercafe locked down their machines a couple of weeks ago.... had to jump through lots of hoops to get SL reinstalled!!!!! (I'm working on convincing other people to play but for now it's just me ) Anyway... looks like there's a new update out which needs a new download... which is now blocked. Soooo.... if there's any chance of providing the installer as a signed ActiveX that would really make my life easier ))))) (Otherwise I will just find another cyber, or (gasp!) buy my own computer, but ActiveX would add a lot of flexibility). (Was going to popin for the no host chat Event) ZHugh

ActiveX? So that means they use IE. Which means they failed "locking down" their machines. Help yourself.

Yes. They've locked down everything I can see except they forgot to lock down download of signed ActiveX stuff. The Citrix ICA client downloads and installs just fine for example.
Guess I'll spend my week-end finding a new cybercafe...
P.S. If someone can remember how to make the exe into a self-installing .cab and sign it, if you could wing it onto a Geocities page that would rock!!!
