How is uBrowser coming along?

I'm not sure if you all understand how important this is to me! ;p

How's SpeedTree doing?

The longer you wait, the more people will try to fill the gap and start businesses based on selling prim trees. The result is something that barely works, looks nowhere near as good as anything that SpeedTree can produce and will increase the number of complaints you receive when you do decide to implement SpeedTree.

Thanks :D

Edit: Throwing in a suggestion for a browser-based client using some sort of 3D technology. Ajax or the new stuff adobe is supposed to be coming up with for Director 11/12, it'll support directX9!

You used to be able to display webpages on prims but tey have since removed that feature for security purposes.

I can't find an announcement. Does this mean that the feature will never be available to us?

Is it being worked on?

I asked Torley and Pastrami about SpeedTree at the last windlight meeting and they both say that they're extremely eager to get it in. Pastrami seemed to indicate that it'll be "very soon".

Torely says that Callum might know more about the html on a prim/uBrowser stuff.

Trying to figure out how to get in touch with Callum, I don't think he has any SL office hours.

Edit: If you wish to see this feature sooner, please vote for it at the following:

Regarding html on a prim,

Steve Linden told me, in world, that they expect to have a solution that will enable one HTML page at a time per parcel in Q1. This will use the current parcel media URL except that HTML will be supported in addition to movies.

Really? I'll have to bug him about that. I'm worried about security. Since the html will be "streamed" directly to the client, there could be serious security issues.
