A long time i asked a Linden about how to tell what class a sim/island sits on . He went on to explain how to. But i felt he really didnt have the slightest idea waht he was talking about. I know if land was obtained 5/5/20** it was assumed it was eitehr a class 3 class 4 or class 5. So here is my idea...........

I would love to see on the ABOUT LAND Tab is what class server it is 4 class 5 class or whatever the the next ones are. It would simplify the understanding.

Hmm, certainly in the estate tools at the very least, since private-island owners may wish to upgrade.

Agreed. Server class should certainly be easier to identify, and About Land is the perfect place for it.

With class 3 gone (or on its way out), if your sim is in SF it's likely class 4 and if it's in Texas it's likely class 5 (not sure if LL ever confirmed it though, but seems to be generally accepted and accurate whenever I looked so far).

Help / About Second Life and note down the IP addie of the sim... open a command prompt and "tracert aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd" and look at the name of the last few hops

Or easier to remember in the context of SL:
63. = Dallas
64. = SF
66. = SF

(If you make a mental note where the sims you usually frequent are, you'll have a better experience during grid hick-ups as well since they're usually network problems. Stick with the sims of the colocation that isn't having problems and you'll have a far more problem-free time :))

All I want is to have a visual way other then the traditional when the land was claimed and this location numbers. I know posting this i would get fuzzy reply from others.

It would make life much more easy and clear for those of us that read this information.
lets hope they take this into concideration.
