I couldn't find a thread associated with this and honestly I'm surprised, but anyway, the current use of Force <x,y,z> on Flexi-prims is a global pressure. This makes the commands pretty much useless unless you want a flexy to always bend in one direction (like North).
Is it possible that we can get the Force <x,y,z> changed to a local adjustment. It'd be nice to be able to change the way flexies are pointing via scripted command, something you can't really do right now.

Having it global is useful for some purposes (like the carnivorous plants I scripted that reach out for passing avatars) but annoying for others. BOTH options should be available, and I don't see why they're not.

Yup, I can see a handful of uses for it, but at the moment I have to calculate it based on rotation of the object and hope the user doesn't turn it around while the force is active

Yes, I'd like the option to make this force local.

I'm just saying that it should be an option rather than simply a change in the meaning of force.

On a slightly different topic, the effect of force and stiffness seems to depend on the type of video card you have. The same settings look different on different machines.
While we are wishing for changes to flex, I'd like to suggest that the effects appear the same on all types of display cards.

GetLocalPos and a tricky math can steer you right in, come on.

From: Vincent Nacon GetLocalPos and a tricky math can steer you right in, come on. Takes a timer and constant updates to make it right, that's a load on the sim that would be nice to avoid.
