How about a clock right on the tool bar up top. IE this way we can see time (ALLOW local time please !! since pst time is useless to me except for in game events I made a script clock that I stuck on my back but it does not work in many of the places I enjoy being (no scripting zones etc..) also what about 2 clocks. one for pst one for local time. or better allow the events times to auto adjust to each users local times. should be doable many forums do this. even this one I think. IE you pick your time shift (-5 for me) etc.. Chris Taylor http://www.nerys.com/

The events are in PST because when talking to someone about events, the fixed TZ gives a point of reference. Otherwise you could be talking about your Amazing Party at 9PM only to have your guests show up at their local 9PMs... You'd perhaps be surprised how many people never look at the events board! I constantly get IMs of the "Hi, what are you doing?" kind, about 2 minutes into an event I'm hosting... lol. Anyway, as I suggested at a Basics class a couple of days ago ... you were there, I think... Try putting a clock above your screen. It's worked for me...

A clock window would be great, accessible from the view and/or window menus. Thanks. Also, people should really be able to change the time display to match their own time zone. This is a super-basic localization feature available in every operating system. Even most forum software has that built in!

Ok thought about it. I still need an EST time for local references so what we need is TWO clocks there is plenty of space in that tool bar so label them. Second Life Time: XX.XX Local Time: XX.XX It does make sense that for IN GAME scheduling we must use one time frame since usage of TIME in this game is "2-way" not one way. if it was just Sl gives us time of events then it would make sense for it to use each members local time. BUT since its two way meaning another SL member might come to me and say hey what time is the av contest etc.. etc.. if I give them EST and they live in Central Time they will miss the event etc.. so that makes sense. someone did give me the idea of using a small clock. I can not believe I never thought of that !! Dolt !! For now I am going to get 2 Automotive big LCD stick on clocks. set one for PST (SL) time and one for EST my local time and stick them on the monitor. the problem and why I need local time is that I get so engrossed into SL that I lose track of time and stay up much longer than is healthy for getting up for work the next day the other nice thing about an in game clock would be the ability to set an alarm. so I could say click the clock and select alarm and punch in the time or the number of hour till it goes off or something like that. would be VERY handy !!
