which would work in world as well.

kind of a cross between windows explorer and a database.

columns:
*** folder/directory structure
* object view (static, one sided)
*** object name
* object UUID
* creator's name
*** for sale?
*** sale price
*** modifiable / copyable / by whom (multiple columns here)
*** contents -- list names of -- if any scripts, click name of script to view exact script
* create and last modified date/times
* currently in world? where? (wishful thinking =)

The *** items should be modifiable. So I could either on or off world, change the name of an object, change whether it's for sale or not (and all that goes along with that), add to its contents, remove items from contents, view and modify its script, etc.

Obviously this means that we'd be storing our inventory on our own systems. Which means that every time we connect, our client would need to communicate to the SL server which items in our database have changed and how they've changed. I think this would be a Good Thing. If our inventory were kept on our own systems, then we could share bits on our websites when allowed -- things like landmarks and calling cards. I'd love to be able to link the bank's banner which is in rotation over at www.your2ndlife.com to a Landmark to said bank. T'would also be a good thing to be able to offer your calling card on your website, since currently in world you can only exchange them face to face, as it were.

Ok, that's all I've got at the moment.

I want it.

Please?
