It would be neat be able to communicate with folks that are in virtual worlds other than SL.

People have suggested many times that LL should implement messaging with non-SL messaging systems such as AOL, MSMessenger, IRC, etc. Why not include other virtual worlds in this idea?

Transmitting text and maybe even bitmaps between virtual worlds such as Active Worlds, Hipihi, Kaneva, Papermint, Splume, etc. shouldn't be an insurmountable technical challege.

One of the functions of virtual worlds is to facilitate communications between people. Why not include the people that are members of other virtual worlds in the big communication stewpot?
