Something to get the length of a playing sound would be something Id really like, it would help alot in getting sound effects to play correctly, and consecutive music files to stream right without having to have them end *exactly* at a certain point.

Id even settle for a dataserver event! lol. It can be implimented in two ways (IMO):

llGetSoundLength()
//gets length of *currently playing/looping* sound

llGetSoundLength(key sound)
//if sound is in object's inventory, first argument can be a name, but it will accept keys.

I would love this personally, alotta problems would be alleviated with something like this.

Since LSL doesn't have function overrides so you can pass different numbers/types of parameters to get different functionalities, they'd have to make the first (parameterless) form take an empty string...

But yeah, I can see how this could be very useful.

Now would you want the total length of the playing sound, or the remaining length? :)
