I'm expecting to bombarded by an array of argumentative posts, but here goes.

Perhaps, as a measure against the Copybot onslaught, residents viewing a questionable object in the "Inspect" tab can directly report it as "Intellectual Property Infringement" by easily hitting a "Report Theft" button that would possibly located to the right of "See Creator Profile." Then, the Linden CSI or w/e can review it. Yeah..

There is already a Report Abuse option in the pie menu, and in up-to-date versions of the viewer there is a copybot category.

You can inspect attachments, it's a little tricky because you have to bring up your build menu first.

I know you can inspect attachments..

And you only need to open the build menu to inspect attachment contents..

lolwut?

Why?

To report that someone copied your prims and you do not know if they did it by hand or by copybot?

Copying someones prim work is not against the TOS last i checked. If you don't want your work copied in some general manner, then make it no mod and risk losing customers.

This option would create nothing but knee-jerk reporters not knowing what it is they are actually reporting anyways.

"Questionable" object - That just sounds like an invitation to a bunch of "maybe this is copied by someone else" or "hey i saw my friend made this first" type of reports.

Copyright or trademark infringement is not exactly theft in that it doesn't deprive the original owner's rights to their work or mark.

Nonetheless, while you can't file an abuse report for copyright or trademark infringement, you can file a takedown notice per http://secondlife.com/corporate/dmca.php . This is a legal process (which is easy to initiate, but might be costly to resolve) and the infringer will also get your personal information.
