I have already posted something on this subject, but I don't know where else to report this. There's no "Report in-game problems" subject, so w/e.
I was shocked to visit a certain store today. The traffic was nearly 90,000, so I was expecting it to at least be a large store that was quite popular. Turns out, only one other person was there. BUT it looked like there were nearly 40 people camping, so I thought I'd look to see. Those little green markers on the mini-map? They were down-pointing arrows, so I kept going down (the main store was at 1000m). And I kept going. And going. And going. I reached the bottom of the land, 0m. And they were still down arrows! I moved my camera, and they only became green circles at about -15m. Now, how is that possible? Something very fishy is going on, because there is a large block of about 40 people camping in the next sim, owned by the same people. And every person there is visible at 500m, all profiles made within a 5-day timeframe or so, and none of them with any info in their profiles. I believe this owner has been abusing the traffic system to spam their land with self-made profiles to boost traffic.
I mean, 90k? It's a terrible store, to tell you the truth, and I'm frustrated that people would cheat the system in an attempt to make their terrible products appear beautiful. I suggest that traffic be calculated using the amount of time people spent moving about, or moving their camera. Traffic should mirror the popularity of a store, not its willingness to throw money at people to stand around.
This is incredibly frustrating, and I hope store owners will want to get rid of this sort of abuse.
