(Big Feature) Object Groups

Well... we don't have stand alone programs to build, we can't group objects that are farther than 30 or 40 meters apart (I forget), and the only way to really get a nice large group of objects selected and put into your inventory as one object is using the "take" option in the pie menu. Just highlighting is hard enough because the dragging selection square can pick up stuff not owned by us, preventing the ability to move our stuff. We really don't have many options as far as macro-management of our stuff goes! So here's the big idea.

Object groups! Under where you can put a name and description for your objects could be a space to put a name of an object group you want that object to be a part of. With the ability to set a default while building and the ability to mass change an object group's name by having multiple selected objects, this would have one main funtion. The ability to select all objects that are owned by you and (here's the important part) are in the same "object group" name. Keep permissions permenant (just the ability to move and take a copy into inventory) and it should be easier to code. This would make it much easier to move large amounts of objects at once, would make it easier to group a large amount of objects and copy it to inventory for backup purposes, make it easier to find lost objects (just search under past group object names and it would get highlighted).

So.... possible? Extra permissions (such as player groups being able to search other people's object groups) could be programmed later maybe or maybe not I really don't have a thought on how hard this stuff is to program. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

i think the main problem is "the dragging selection square can pick up stuff not owned by us", right?
maybe a simple fix is to make an option to "select only my objects". then i could drag select an area and only my own objects would remain selected. i would probably keep that turned on all the time unless i was asked to edit someone object.

Or mebbe at least make objects that aren't yours highlight red or something. Recently I had to link up a house to turn it over, and because there were like 2 objects that weren't mine I had to pick the entire house out object by object. Argh.

Something related I noticed while linking up my house was that there seems to be a limit on the number of objects you can link. I just finished linking my house and decided to link one more thing to it and when I hit link the whole thing unlinked. I repeated two more times with the same results. Also I while using an area select on objects sometimes the ownership info hasn't loaded for all objects and it won't let you effect the selection group.
