HEY GUYS THANKYOU FOR YOUR REPLYS, ON THE LAST POST.

MAYBE I DIDNT SAY IT RIGHT, BUT WHEN YOU ARE A POWER USER, ON SL, YOU NEED MORE THAN 25 GROUPS.

MAYBE YOU COULD HAVE OPTIONS THAT ENABLE BANNING OF CHAT AND NOTICES.

FOR INSTANCE, CLUBBERS GUIDE FILLED MY EMAIL WITH 685 NOTICES IN ONE DAY.

LET ME TELL YOU THAT WAS A TAD ANNOYING TRYING TO DELETE ALL THEM AND NOT DELETING ANY OF THE OTHER 140 I GET PER DAY, LOL

BUT AS YOU CAN IMAGIN, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT. AND ALL HAVE DIFFERENT NEEDS.
EVEN IF YOU HAD TO BE A PREMIUM MEMBER TO RECIVE 50-100 GROUPS AS A LIMIT, THEN THIS WOULD BENIFIT THOSE WHO FELT THEY NEEDED IT.

SCROLL TO BOTTOM WITH SHIFT STILL HELD.
SELECT THE BOTTOM CALLING CARD.

THIS SHOULD SELECT YOUR WHOLE LIST.

THEN PRESS SELECT.
NOW THEY SHOULD BE ADDED TO YOUR FIRST WINDOW.
PRESS SEND.

Hmm sorry can't see a JIRA link in there, so can't help you, maybe it's to small to be seen in amounst all the caps?

As has been explained in the lower case JIRA entry.
It is not as simple as LL increasing the limit and adding a server. Permissions checks have to be made server side against all the groups you belong to many times as you move and operate in SL. Voting for a simple increase is therefore like voting to increase lag.
And despite the large voting numbers, an internal check found "surprisingly few people" using up all 25 group slots.

True, maybe an increase to only 30 or 40, this would ony creat lag for those that used them all I guess, I usually delete a group if a goup is important enough to add, and usually delete the ones thta chat all the time anyway or "Can you TP me?" Which sometimes I do for the person dropping them in the ocean or where ever I am 600m up in my plane

can you image the stress with all those extra groups? I love to see them increase i said in the past we should have more. But not to increaseless fps .its not worth it.

Um nope. Server side checks means more processing time in that sim. So being in a sim with people with over 25 groups would mean extra lag for all.
There is a proposal for additional IM / messaging groups only, where you would have no land or building permissions to check. I'm not clued up enough to know how much of an additional strain this would place server side. But it's not high on my list of priorities compared to random crashes etc... And besides, the "we want more groups" people seem to keep insisting they want more full permission groups, therefore shooting themselves in the foot somewhat.

I wouldn't be surprised if according to that check the average resident is in 0 groups .

Only 1 in 10 residents actually sticks around for any amount of time, so we have 9 million accounts with few, if any. If all of the remaining 1 million used all of their groups, you'd still only get 2.5 groups/resident.

Certainly more than 25 groups would be useful.

Any resident with shops in a number of malls will have a large number of groups.

Dani for example, when she sets up a new store normally has to leave a group to join a new one.
