I propose more search filters in the land sales search tool!
options to do the following:
1. filter for no covenants, filter for covenants only, filter for either.
2. filter options for land asking for paypal/RL payment
3. filter options for land that isn't for sale by perminant owner using only in game L$'s
4. filter for mainland only, filter for island only.
5. filter for commercial/residental land.
6. filter for area less than amount. (enabling the buyer to say " I want 512 exactly. no more, no less".

(proposal going up in a day or so with any other thoughts that spring up between now and then).
The reason i'm proposing this is because a simple search for 512 land to help a newbie or to get myself an extra home brings up no less than four thousand results. Finding any amount of land without proposals, strings attached, RL paypall rental needed, or covenants is an excersise in frustration.
Why are rents (for rl money even) comming up in the "for sale search"? I'd love a way to filter that so I can find land without having to wade through the covenants and rentals.
I personaly feel that this lack of articulation in the land search tool is contributing to the rising land prices.

Because there's few if any limits on what an estate owner can do.
Land on "indefinite lease" - the Linden mainland where you keep it so long as you keep paying tier - can be considered "for sale".
Land on an island really can't be considered something you own... even if you "buy" a whole island from someone they still own it and can take it back with no notice. It's really rental.
Just being able to split mainland "for sale" from island "for lease" would take care of most of your needs. The rest of your suggestions are filtering for things that the estate owners can game endlessly. The one thing they can't fake is being on the mainland.
I'd like to search based on the estate owner, by name, too. So I can filter for established estate owners who've shown they operate like a real business, people like Alliez Mysterio or Anshe Chung.

I currently have 2048 which I actually own and do not pay any rent at all. I cannot finish my house though because I do not have enough prims allowance so I must move.
I'm trying to buy some land but I can't because everyone wants rent only. I don't want to rent I want to BUY!
Vote YES for advanced filtering dang blast it!

Prop: 2250 - Better Search capability
Prop: 2226 - Allow selection to limit land searches to non-covenant only.
Prop: 2173 - Split Land Sales Search out by Mainland and Private Sim
Prop: 1865 - New sale type: "lease"
Prop: 1849 - Choose private sim vs mainland in search-land sales
How about everyone puts their votes for this behind one proposal?
2173 seems to be the oldest one with a lot of votes.

This is an absolute MUST have!
I've looked at the propositions mentioned in the earlier post and observed that LL has ignored all of them. No comments, no reviews. Why? I believe we are fighting big money interests in the private sim owners that do not want this to happen. But it must happen. It is needed.
Argent Stonecutter is right. We need to concentrate efforts and force this one through. Make it a "grass roots" campaign. Get your friends to cast their votes too. Many probably do not even realize they have votes to cast. As Proposition 2173 does in fact have the highest number, lets all pool votes into it.
Also, put it in your profiles. Get your friends going on it. Get LL's attention please. We NEED this search feature despite any opposition to it.

I'd like to point out that I have stopped using the Land Search tab altogether and just used the large map manually. Unless the problem is fixed, the Land tab is completely useless.
