Plugin for the Web navigators (Firefox rolz) with capacity to allow to interact with SecondLife. In order to avoid load in the network and the navigator, is possible to be limited just to a specific parcel. The access can be with a “visitor” account, and in-world, it would not appear any avatar. If this new feature is able... now people can take virtual tours to the webmasters parcels in the sl 3d enviroment.

I am very interested about the proposal of creating a SL internet browser plugin. I think this will improve the usage and the uses of secondlife for business purpose too making SL like a traditional media also for people who don't want to download the client Please develop it!!!!!!
To be clear:
We must develop a plugin for the internet browser that simulat the client but don't let user to interact with the world but only to see and speak. For instance these will be phantoms that navigate into the world can talk with others, see places but cannot create or have inventory or other things like this. The plugin would be like a TV inside a html page or similar so we can have a watching plugin that can let advertiser to gain the maximum from the platform using it not only for entertainment thanks

So....you want to create a browser plugin that knows how to render 3D scenes more intense than Doom 3 levels. At full detail.
I fail to see why this would be useful. FF and IE are already almost as big as the SL client (my Mozilla FireFox folder in c:\Programs is 23 MB). Running FF takes up 55k+ of RAM (54k right now with two tabs in one window). SL without logging in is 75k of RAM.
You want to integrate the two so you have a ginormous Internet/SL browser that takes up 130k of RAM just idling and more than doubles the size of the internet browser program itself (a 23 MB program does not need a 32 MB plugin).

Actually Draco the client has the mozilla browser implemented into it, or rather the uBrowser (see http://ubrowser.com ). As far as I know, plans are heading heading towards allowing the browser to be placed on prims in world. I believe the only remaining stumbling block is getting Flash content to work correctly, and since that's on practically every website it's kind of a big thing. I've heard rumblings that the browser will be able to affect SL through LSL bindings, but I don't see how right now.

Point, the browser is already in SL, but why would you need SL in your browser?

you talk like expert but you have to understand that over 60% of internet users are not experts or young so if we want sl to become a communication platform we must let people spy sl world true a simple browser plugin so if i have a company maybe i would use the plugin to let my website visitors see my place in SL without downloading the client. Obviously i have no way of real interaction. Only see what happens.
Perhaps the solution maybe a plugin that connects to a server where there are virtual clients that conncts to the SL world transmitting then the image to the plugin like what happen with yackpack where the plugin dialogs with the server to elaborate the sound and trasmit to the other plugins..
sorry i am not a technician but i have analyzed the difficulties of SL penetration in the european market and even people would like to explore the client is still to difficult to learn so a simple plugin may simplify the exploration of the world... please help the users and don't think all are experts!
thank you

From: Yma Waki we must let people spy sl world true a simple browser plugin so if i have a company maybe i would use the plugin to let my website visitors see my place in SL without downloading the client. 1) "simple." A SL plugin would not be simple or small. 2) The plugin needs to be downloaded too. Check in on how plugins work. From: someone Obviously i have no way of real interaction. Only see what happens. Um.....why? And what part of SL could they see? There's over 700 square kilometers of virtual land in SL. From: someone Perhaps the solution maybe a plugin that connects to a server where there are virtual clients that conncts to the SL world transmitting then the image....... So....a remote desktop connect of "View Only" of someone playing SL. Get VNC and start a server everytime you're on SL and let people log in and watch.

I guess that'll teach me to post so soon after waking up. I read that as needing a browser in SL and figured you guys didn't know it was there already.
I partially agree that some fashion of communicating with the inside world would be cool from the outside world, but I'm not so sure web browsers would be the way. On the other hand, if the uBrowser ever gets Flash figured out, you could use a browser in world to join an IRC server with a Flash client.

Someone please make clear to me WHY we need a non-manditory plugin for FF/IE that simulates SL, is probably as big as SL, that people need to go search fo instead of SL to demo SL.
If they want to demo SL, they can get a bloody account.
If they don't, they won't even bother looking for a plugin.
Of what possible use is this?
