Remain at same flying level

I often (by often I mean constantly) have to fly higher to avoid ban lines. This really spoils my enjoyment of the experience. Can't the interface be changed so that once I have raised my flight path to avoid one banline, my height will remain constant until I lower it? At least then I can continue for the rest of the journey unimpeded. I don't understant why it keeps reducing in height as you fly.

It follows the terrain so you're actually always at a fixed offset from the ground.

I have often wished for constant altitude flight.

I'm sure there is a scripted solution of sorts available somewhere.

Original terrain or after it's been flattened raised etc.?

I don't think so.
I've found that when I fly I go up and away from the land at a constant and measurable speed. If I hover I stay in the same spot, unlike if I had a flight aid attached.

After rising using the rise control, you begin to fall slowly, whether keeping still or flying, until you are once more low enough to fly into ban tapes. I think once the slow fall is completed, you do follow the land contours. I just want the fall abolished.

Wear a scripted jetpack.

It does not have to be visable.
